Agency partnerships

Mustard is the preferred research partner of several agencies, operating across disciplines such as strategy, brand and customer experience alignment, PR, design, advertising and digital / social marketing. We help our partners to win pitches and retain key clients. We inform campaign development (pre creative design), test creative and measure effectiveness of marketing activity. We source data for press releases, and have engaged with key decision makers and influencers from Chile to China.


We have delivered several projects for Groupe PSA (Peugeot, Citroën and DS brands). These have included testing packaged propositions and TV advertising campaigns. We have also worked with used car “supermarket” brands, and engaged with stakeholders in the sector through our work with Huntsman Polyurethanes. We have also delivered research to understand appeal of introducing telematic solutions into fleet policies, and for new lease / financing schemes.


We have delivered several programmes of research in the charity sector, including segmentations, customer satisfaction monitoring and communications development. We work with clients to understand the impacts of products, services and initiatives. We work to understand donation behaviour, motivations, triggers and barriers. We measure appeal and likely impact of new concepts / initiatives.

Distribution / Logistics

Research and consultancy programmes have covered parcels delivery, haulage, shipping containers, courier services and component parts distribution. Clients worked for in this sector have included Deutsche Post, UPS, TNT, P&O, Initial City Link, Hapag Lloyd, Unipart Rail, Brammer Group. We have delivered a market share programme for express parcels and customer satisfaction / service quality benchmarking studies, as well as NPD and innovation (implementing delivery tracking systems).


The Mustard team includes former client-side researchers from BBC Worldwide, The Financial Times, Guardian, Channel 4, UKTV and IPC Media. Mustard has recently worked with Warner Brothers on the Harry Potter brand, and has broad and relevant sector experience across markets and target audiences.

Technology / Digital

Mustard has worked with various technology businesses – delivering insight to inform development of hardware, software and supporting services. We have helped in the development of apps for b2b and b2c audiences (including a multi-country study to inform development of a movie translation app). We also delivered several programmes of research on behalf of accounting software business Sage.

Utilities and public services

Mustard has worked with clients across various utilities and public services. Many programmes have focused on understanding consumer priorities and their communications / information requirements. We have tested communications concepts for a major UK water supplier, undertaken research to inform billing strategies, and delivered numerous projects / programmes on behalf of UK Police Forces: to inform Policing Plans and, to measure satisfaction with services.
